Professor Khalid Haque graduated from Karachi, Pakistan in 1967. He retired from University of London, St. George’s Medical School as Reader (Professor) in Neonatal Medicine and is currently visiting Faculty Professor of Neonatal Medicine to five universities.

He was Senior Consultant Neonatologist and chief of Neonatology at St. Helier University Hospital and the Director of Research and Development at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals Trust prior to retirement.

 

Professor Haque is a fellow of the Royal Colleges of London, Edinburgh, Ireland and the College of Paediatrics and Child Health, UK. He also has a master’s in business administration (MBA). He has been principal regional examiner for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and visiting professor and examiner to four universities.

He has over 54 years of Paediatrics and neonatology experience working in Asia, Arabia, North America, Canada, and the UK. He has been invited to many countries to teach and train neonatal clinicians for the past 35 years.

Professor Khalid Haque has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers, six chapters and has authored five books and edited seven books including an illustrated textbook of paediatrics. His latest publication is Pakistan’s Neonatal Resuscitation Manual.

Professor Haque has done pioneering research work in immuno-modulation in neonatal sepsis, neonatal nutrition, and other aspects of neonatal care. His consensus definitions of neonatal bloodstream infections have been adopted universally and still used today.

Professor Haque continues to supervise and mentor master’s and PhD students. He is a reviewer for twelve international journals and visiting professor to four universities.
